HEALTH AND HAPPINESS:

BE LIKE WATER.

A famous quote by an absolute hero:

"Be like water" is a quote from martial artist and actor Bruce Lee. The full quote reads:

"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

This quote is so important in this modern world of fast paced working lives, stress and external factors taking over our happiness.

Be like water specifically talks about the ability to adapt and flow around lives obstacles, stating that water can also be an unrelenting, an unstoppable force that doesn't worry about what is in it's way, it simply moves around it.

What does that sound like?

When are you at your most productive? is it when you are overwhelmingly stressed, or is it when you just think FUCK IT, this is my situation so this is how I am going to get out of it.

And you just crack on.

Let me give you an example based on personal experience:

I used to get so pressured on making sales, and if I didn't make one I would be livid, feeling like my day has been a waste. It wasn't until I studies business, and life in general that I realised sometimes we just can't control everything about life.

I can do everything in my power to try and generate people to my site, gain interest in my work and ultimatley decide to invest in me but I just can't control certain things in life.

Once I started doing this, and reviewing whether or not I had done enough to deserve a new sign up, or whatever I was seeking I could then effectively evaluate my performance each month and see if I had grown.

The answer was usually yes. If I didn't earn as much money as I had hoped, had my following increased? Had I engaged with more people than last month and built up more contacts? Had I provided enough value to people?

All of these questions are factors in my control. And once you understand this life becomes much less stressfull.

So, my friend. Be like water, flow through life instead of being hung up on things you can't control. Flow around obstacles in your way and just enjoy the ride we are on.

Stay happy, stay safe.

Adam.
